Pizza reminded me of Papa Murphy's. My wife liked the pan style crust, comparing it to California Pizza Kitchen. I wasn't overly impressed. We spent $110 for 4 pizzas. They were big, about 1x2', but that's still pretty expensive.

My family got pizza here while on vacation. We hoped for a nice night where we didn't have to cook and could relax with pizza. Big mistake. We ordered three large pizzas, which equated to about 24 slices. Two pepperoni and one margherita pizza. About 50 dollars worth. Being the only pizza place in the area that was open that day, we hoped for the best. Most of my family found the pizza to be completely inedible. The crust was soggy and undercooked. The margherita pizza was advertised as having fresh chopped basil, but in reality, had dried basil pieces clearly not fresh at all. We've had better pizza from cafeterias, at a third of the cost. Please do yourselves a favor and grab frozen pizzas from the grocery store instead. What a waste!

There isn't much competition for this pizza place, but if there was it would be out of business. It is very expensive for pizza that is not worth it in my opinion. The middles of all of our pizzas were doughy and not cooked all the way through. Overall, our family concluded that the pizzas tasted like a Bagel Bite (don't get me wrong, I love Bagel Bites but I could have gotten those for a fraction of the price and would have had a better experience). Save yourself some time and money and go to the Bi-Lo and buy a frozen pizza or the ingredients to make a quick homemade one- it'll be better than Buck's.

This pizza was way better than we expected going off of reviews. Great meal! Lots of cheese, delicious crust, toppings were all good.

VERY expensive for what you get, which is something similar to frozen boxed Mama Celeste pizza. The hours are also very limited. You're better off going to the 24-hour Bi-Lo and getting a frozen pizza there and heating it up in a microwave in your camper/house/at the local gas station.

This was one of very few pizza places in town. I've had better pizza in my work cafeteria and for way less money.

This is pretty much the only game in town if you want pizza. At the time of my visit there were a few restaurants still in development. So there really weren't many food options. We ordered a plain cheese pizza and salads. The pizza was a bit on the pricey side for what it was. It was just marginally ok. The dough seemed like it was freezer pizza quality. Actually, I've had some better freezer pizzas. My friend was even less impressed than I was. The salads were fresh and generously sized, which we appreciated. So if you're a salad person I suggest you go for that and skip the pizza. There's a covered dining porch with a nice mural. It's not air conditioned though if you're hoping for AC with your meal. The tables were in various states of needing to be cleaned. It's really a 2 star place but I'm giving it an additional star just for existing in this location. In summary: if you want pizza on the beach this is your place. If you want great pizza try elsewhere.

We enjoyed the cheese pizza and the Hawaiian pizza. We ordered it to go. Great crust and toppings.

We stopped at Bucks for lunch and really enjoyed it. The portions are huge...we had the steak hoagies and fries. Seating is on a screened in porch which is big. It is also next to a few ice cream shops. Wish we would have went again to try the pizza!

Sad to say that we did in fact order a pizza while on vacation on the beach. Sometimes you just get a craving for something other than fresh seafood (sacriledge I know!). I have had a lot of bad pizza in my time, so I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza that was delivered to our beach house. Two part size pizzas with multiple toppings (half with this, half with that...) came to $40 - which is cheap compared to back home. I wont lie and say I was concerned. The pies were the giant rectangle party pizzas we were used to but the volume of toppings was the true surprise. They didnt skimp on anything! Crust was cooked properly, generous but not too much sauce. A ton of cheese and veggies and meat. Overall, pretty pleased with our pizza night at the beach. Service was fast, friendly, and they deliver. So if you do get a craving for pizza - it doesnt get much better than that!

This is some of the worst pizza I've ever had. Avoid this place at all costs.

I have tried their pizza only once and wasn't impressed. However , i do like their calzones and they are huge. You can probably split one between two people which makes it very easy on the wallet too.

The staff act like emotionless robots, occasionally leaving their catatonic state to express their one and only emotion (irritation) if confused by your order. Despite there being no other customers, they couldn't be bothered to clean the tables. But in such an isolated location there's not much in the way of competition and Buck's always ends up being our choice for pizza. The one redeeming factor is that the quality of food from the kitchen infers there's someone back there who gives a care. The kids (college age) always insist on pizza at least once during our beach vacations. Buck's is definitely the best we've had on Edisto Island. Compared to the mainland offerings its quality can still hold its own. The four of us had a large Caesar salad, a large Chicken Alfredo pizza, a basket of 15 wings (sauce-less so as to please everyone), and my daughter had a small build-your-own pizza. With 4 soft drinks this set us back almost $60. OUCH! The crust on both pizzas were top quality. The bacon on the Alfredo pizza was both crunchy and tasty. My daughter's BBQ Chicken pizza was equally delicious she said. The wings were good (hard to mess up actually) and the institutional Ranch Dressing packets were actually quite flavorful. The salad was fresh and the Ken's Caesar dressing packet actually went well with it. There is a large screened-in patio with comfortable seats, which offers much more seating than the tiny air conditioned counter area. Self-service fountain refills are available inside as well. We saw a lot of take-out orders being picked up near the end of our meal, so it's definitely a favorite with the other tourists also.

I will pretty much echo the sentiments of the one previous reviewer for Buck's. Pretty good pizza, pretty indifferent service. The girl behind the counter didn't greet us or say anything to us until we started ordering. There are only 3 tables inside the air-conditioned part (which is another negative point), but our table's napkin dispenser was still empty. It also seemed like the fountain for the diet coke had a problem with it's formula, as it was too watery. But the pizza was decent, so I'd say if you're on the island and looking for pizza, just call ahead and pick up. You can get an extra large pizza + bread sticks for about $25.

Maybe if they only charged a buck! You have to make an effort to screw up pizza this bad. Also the service was completely indifferent. Never again. We will make out own pizza from now on at Edisto.

It really should be named Yucks or Up-Chucks. Portions were skimpy, prices were high and the pizza was undercooked, flavorless and rubbery. You'd be better off buying a frozen pizza. Save your money for something else.

Disappointing in so many ways . . left the pepperoni off a pepperoni, onion & mushroom pizza. Not home-made hand-tossed pizza dough as advertised. Crust was undercooked and soggy. At $17.43 for a size large, this pizza was a ripoff. Go next door to Piggly Wiggly grocery store and get two pizzas that taste better for the same price. Going out to eat during the offseason at Edisto is a real crapshoot with lousy service and restaurants closing early.

Good pizza but I can't give this place higher than a 2 because it's ridiculously expensive. I ordered 2 XL pizzas and a small salad and it came to $60, but somehow the pizzas looked no bigger than a typical large. By the time our party of 4 got done everyone was still hungry! Go to Buck's if and only if you wanna get scalded. Otherwise, the lady's right, get a Tombstone. I could've gotten 15 of em for the price I paid.

Would have liked to try this small chain's pizza but the people working two Thursdays ago decided to close the restaurant 1.5hrs early. Come one guys, that's bush league.

Great pizza. My kids loved the cheese pizza and I loved the veggie. For a party of seven two large pizzas, a large chef salad, a large Greek salad and 7 free refills sodas cost. $65.00. I don't. Think that wasn't bad for the money.

I read a few reviews before going to Bucks. We wanted pizza, for an evening picnic. Like most reviews, I agree the prices are pretty ridiculous. Pizza in most places in the world are the cheapest meal to purchase. Buck's has mystery prices when you order, we placed a walk- in order, and couldn't find a price list. They do have a size chart, we ordered a large, which at most pizzerias would be a medium. Total price for a large pepperoni pizza cost us $15.60. This same pizza would be $5.00 at any other pizzeria across America. With their location, and no competition they can get away with over charging. So don't think it's a cheap alternative to going out. The large was plenty of food for three people. They had plates, plastic forks & knifes too. We walked next door to the Piggly Wiggly for sodas. The pizza was actually really good. Reminded us of a bar pizza we had in New Glarus, Wisconsin, this pizza was well cooked, with the perfect amount of sauce and pepperoni. We found the staff to be very friendly! We ate under $20's, I find it crazy some people would drop $60+ for pizza as I read in previous reviews. Don't worry about having to drink a gallon of water after eating this pizza, not too salty or garlic-ie that you might get at most local pizzas joints. Edisto Island needs another pizzeria to keep Buck's honest in pricing and portions. We stayed within our budget for tonights meal, but could have done better. Pizza should be a cheap meal, though not at Buck's.

Pizza was pretty poor and the portions too small. Our $17 "Buck's Deluxe" did not even fill our modest family. Service was laughable. Be sure you Really want pizza before going to the only pizza place on the island. You may be better off with Tombstone's from The Pig.

They pretty much own the pizza market at the beach. I've only eaten here once and it was "take out" so I can't really elaborate much other than that the pizza dough is spongy though not thick but certainly not the crunchy crust sort of pizza. And they don't overwhelm you with loads of cheese either. Far better than any chain and perhaps next time we'll indulge in their wings. The menu is actually quite extensive so go take a stab...you got nothing to lose since eventually you're gonna or someone close to you is gonna want some pizza.
